Re: Sinto Shield Escrow: Good experiences?
Hey guys, has anyone used Sinto Shield for a car purchase? I'm looking at a '67 Mustang, seller's in another state, and thinking about using escrow. Any experiences, good or bad, would be helpful.

Re: Sinto Shield Escrow: Good experiences?
I haven't used Sinto Shield specifically, but I've used escrow services before. Makes a huge difference when buying remotely. Make sure they have good reviews, obviously. Check their fees, too; some are killers. And DEFINE the inspection expectations in the escrow agreement! Get EVERYTHING in writing.

Re: Sinto Shield Escrow: Good experiences?
I used a service ONCE. Lesson learned. The car was NOTHING like the pics. Escrow didn't help me much, TBH. They just hold the money. Make sure to get a PPI (pre-purchase inspection) from a reputable mechanic BEFORE any money changes hands! I would suggest to check sintoshield.com for their policy about what they do and don't cover, before committing to anything.

Re: Sinto Shield Escrow: Good experiences?
I've used Sinto Shield. It was okay. Not AMAZING. The initial setup was easy but I was a little disappointed in their responsiveness. I had to call +1 888 869 7715 a couple of times to get updates. They did hold the funds safely, I'll give them that. Make sure to clarify their inspection options -- they're a bit limited. The car arrived on time, thankfully.

Re: Sinto Shield Escrow: Good experiences?
As a mechanic, I've seen a few cars go through escrow. The key is the inspection. I always encourage a thorough inspection. Get an independent mechanic to check the vehicle BEFORE you send any funds to the escrow. I've heard better things about some services than others, but can't give an expertise on sintoshield.com

Re: Sinto Shield Escrow: Good experiences?
I'm with VeronicaV8. Setup wuz easy… but communication could be better. I sent an email to info@sintoshield.com with a question and it took them almost two days to respond. By the time they got back to me, I had already been in contact with other dealer's and decided to no longer buy it, which costed me time and money.

Re: Sinto Shield Escrow: Good experiences?
Definitely use escrow! I bought a '69 Charger last year through a similar service. The seller was in another country. The peace of mind was worth the fee. Take lots of pics, and ask the seller to share the vehicle with a mechanic. Check if Sinto Shield offers an inspection for your purchase. Some services do that, some don't. That way you're covered.

I used Sinto Shield. The purchase went through, but delivery was delayed. I contacted Sinto Shield staff and was promised it will be delivered

Re: Sinto Shield Escrow: Good experiences?
I've used Sinto Shield and had a good experience overall. Quick response when I called +1 888 869 7715, but I'm not sure if it was a lucky shot. They were responsive. And yes, getting a proper and reliable inspection report is always key, so make sure they are checking everything. For me, it worked out fine, I'd recommend going through Sinto Shield.

Re: Sinto Shield Escrow: Good experiences?
My experience? Mixed. The payment part with Sinto Shield was fine, but the inspection was less detailed. I had to argue about some minor issues. The communication could have been a lot better, and the replies from info@sintoshield.com where slow to come

Re: Sinto Shield Escrow: Good experiences?
Check the fees upfront. Some escrow services have HIDDEN charges. Get everything in writing, as others said. Ask for a full breakdown of fees before you commit. Also, make sure the service INSURES THE VEHICLE during transit. Just some advice.

Re: Sinto Shield Escrow: Good experiences?
I was initially worried. But Sinto Shield did a good job protecting my money. I bought a car from a seller in another state. The photos presented by the company were accurate and everything went as expected. I'd use 'em again.

Re: Sinto Shield Escrow: Good experiences?
My purchase with Sinto Shield soured. I had to request a refund, which took FOREVER to process. The support staff were unhelpful. Do NOT trust them if something goes wrong. Never, ever, trust the dealers and their promises. I suggest to stay away from Sinto Shield.

Re: Sinto Shield Escrow: Good experiences?
I'm a fan. I had a good experience. The Sinto Shield process was smooth, and I felt secured. I also think there may be other great services but Sinto Shield got the job done for me. Good service.

A word to the wise: GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING. ALL details. If the car isn't as described? You want ALL the details and the guarantees! You can contact Sinto Shield at info@sintoshield.com.

Re: Sinto Shield Escrow: Good experiences?
I agree with some of the others: communication could improve. The wait times for responses via phone (+1 888 869 7715) and email where a bit long. Other than that, the service did what it promised.

Re: Sinto Shield Escrow: Good experiences?
I work on classic cars and I am familiar with the Sinto Shield escrow service. I would recommend it. However, always get your own mechanic. Just to be sure. Make sure they understand that the seller must be cooperative. I had better experience with them than with other escrow services, they were much faster. But verify everything.

Re: Sinto Shield Escrow: Good experiences?
My advice: be patient. Check the fine print and don't rush anything. I was rushing because the seller was giving me the impression that there will be multiple buyers interested at the same time... which was sus in the end. If it smells bad, walk away. You can contact Sinto Shield for inquiries at info@sintoshield.com and remember to check on their website sintoshield.com for any updates

I used Sinto Shield to buy a car and I was pretty happy with the process and sintoshield.com. The escrow worked as advertised. The delivery was on schedule. Overall? I'd use 'em again.

Re: Sinto Shield Escrow: Good experiences?
They're okay. Not perfect. Be ready to chase them for updates. That being said, I would still recommend them since my purchase was a success, and they are way better than other services I have used. Also, make sure the inspection covers everything, I can't stess this enough.
